LEGO Harry Potter Year 1 Walkthrough

Harry Potter!! Who doesn’t just love the idea of a new Harry Potter game. The music, the characters, the story line!

A little Harry Potter head bounces in the left corner when the game is saving.

The introduction of the game starts very similar to the Philosopher’s Stone. Poor wee Harry Potter is placed peacefully at the doorstep of the Dursley’s. Only to wake up and find himself as their slave 11 years later.

Mail arrives and its Hogwarts to the rescue! Poor little Harry Potter knows something huge must be happening as Mr. Dursley is freaking out about mail. Hagrid arrives and takes Harry away to the Leaky Cauldron.

This is when the game begins.

Y = Switches between character (Harry and Hagrid to start)

A = Jump

Things to find throughout the game:

Red Bricks: 20

Students in Peril: 50

Gold Bricks 200

True Wizard Bar: 24

Hogwarts Crests 24 (4 pieces in each)

The Magic Begins

Leaky Cauldron:

Run around the main room in the Leaky Cauldron and collect the LEGO studs. There are 3 different colors and values. Silver = 10. Gold = 100. Blue = 1000.

The more studs you have the faster you will fill up your True Wizard bar. The True Wizard Bar sits at the top of your screen in the middle and when you find studs they automatically go there. If you fill it before the end of a level then you get a reward.

Naturally you will want to be Harry first, then switch to Hagrid to use some magic. You switch between characters by pressing Y. Harry hasn’t been to Hogwarts yet… so sadly he doesn’t know how to do any magic!

Hagrid can made the beer glasses dance around him on the table and toss the smaller tables around in a circle. Just look at an object and press B (or hold B). This releases studs. He can also hang the cups up at the bar to release studs.

Pressing X will produce a generic spell. You can get studs from items by pressing X in the objects direction. You can blow up the barrels and beer kegs by pressing X. This will release studs and hearts. It seems he can hit things with the random spell X about 3 times to keep releasing the studs.

I pressed B while the Spell Wheel was lingering over a candle and it exploded. A heart appeared then the table it was sitting on collapsed. Hagrid put it back together by holding B. You can pick up other people if they have the Spell Wheel highlighted around them. Do the same with the second candle. Once it explodes, a piece of the Hogwarts Crest will float in the air.

Walk over to the bar. You need to hold B on the bar chairs so they turn into a ledge you can use to collect the crest piece. You could also hold X and move the Spell Wheel onto the chairs and it will do the correct spell. After the chairs switched position, switch to Harry so you can hop up and grab the crest piece. There are 24 whole Hogwarts Crests in the game, so be on the look for them! (Hogwarts Crest piece 1/4)

Hold B to cast Wingardium Leviosa and use the platform to send Harry Potter up onto the next floor. Collect the wheel for the door. You can carry LEGO objects to the highlighted areas and press B to put them in place. Hagrid can use magic to open the door.

Diagon Alley:

Remember to blow up whatever you can by pressing X. If you are using Harry, then you will roll into things and smash them up by pressing X. As you enter the alley, go to the left and stand where the red B is floating. Hold B down and a piece of the Hogwarts Crest will appear (2/4). Also, make sure to adventure into the corners of the game… that’s where the Blue studs are hiding.

You can put the empty keg barrel on Hagrid’s head and walk around with it. Hagrid can fix broken objects by casting Wingardium Leviosa (holding B). He fixes a spring which Harry can use to bounce onto a gutter to collect some studs.

Use Hagrid to blow up the table and chairs on the right. This will release studs and a magic bouncing chair. And you can cast Wingardium Leviosa on the table and chairs from above and it will bring them down. Walk a bit further down the alley and switch to Harry and stand on the table to where you collected the studs from the gutter. Hagrid will use Wingardium Leviosa to lift you into the air. Here you will find the first “Student in Peril” (1 of 24).

At the end of the alley, there is a bubbling cauldron with images floating around on top. It requires a spider, ice cream, and a flower. Pick up the spider off the web and put it in the cauldron, and across from the spider pick up the flower pot. You will need to use Wingardium Leviosa to get the ice cream vendor to release an ice cream.

The cauldron explodes opening the alley a bit more. You can go back to the beginning of the alley and hop on the broom to clean up the green goo. That gives you another piece of the Hogwarts Crest (3/4). Head towards the door and pull of the handle. Don’t forget to collect all the studs around you. To the left of the door is another Blue stud.

Gringotts Bank:

As long as you are still playing as Hagrid you can use Wingardium Leviosa to stack books together and clean up the place a bit. This gives you more studs.

There are 8 lights that are burnt out. Hagrid can hold B to re-light them. You get a Blue stud as a reward, plus all the extra little studs that go flying out of each light when you turn them on. There are a few blue books on the counters which Hagrid can cast Wingardium Leviosa on to release studs as the books fly away and explode.

At the far side of the bank, Hagrid can fix a table which Harry can jump onto. Once he is there, Hagrid will automatically use magic to lift harry up so he can collect the studs on the window ledge.

Hagrid can also blow up all the chairs that are not in use (press X) and collect the studs! If you run around around the room, you will find stacks of books, and objects on the walls that you can hit with X for some extra studs.

Head towards the floating B and get the attention of the goblin.

You can now control the goblin. Head towards the lock that only goblins can open.

Use Hagrid to pull open the chain and switch back to the goblin to open the chest. You have to leave the room to switch characters back to Hagrid. Cast Wingardium Leviosa to put the pieces from the chest together. Switch to Harry so you can go into the chest and collect a couple Blue studs.

It is a photo which you can engage with by standing in the floating B. Hagrid waves at the goblin in the photo and the goblin opens a magic door behind him. Walk through the door.

Cut scene of the 3 traveling down to the vaults. You are now at the vaults. You can hold X to put together some lanterns and use Hagrid to pull the chain so the dragon blowing fire can get sucked into the roof. Switch to the goblin and unlock the door.

Harry walks into the room filled with Gold studs and another one full of partying goblins. They finally enter the room with the philosophers stone and Hagrid tucks it away safely in his pocket.

Back to Diagon Alley:

Harry is searching for his school supplies. First stop the wand store. Hagrid surprises Harry with a hat and owl. Harry tries to look aggressive but sneezes instead! Rather cute. That is the end of the first chapter. It’s off to Hogwarts now.

Free Play Unlocked

Received 3 Gold Bricks (Level 1, Student in Peril, True Wizard)

Hogwarts Crests (3/4)

**Note: You can go back in Free Play or Replay mode to look for things you don’t have yet. When you get what you’re looking for, then save and exit or finish the level again. Either way it will be saved.

Long cut scene of Harry at Hogwarts Express and his travels to Hogwarts. Harry’s glasses get broken and Ron fails at fixing Harry’s glasses and Hermione walks by to assist them. They use the sorting hat to get placed into their houses and Dumbledore is satisfied that Harry is in Griffindor.

Boys Bedroom:

Press X to target objects. You can blow up the heater in the middle of the room to release studs. You can blow up the beds (4 total) to release studs. Also jump on the beds to reach the studs that are higher up. Woo! You get a Gold Brick for blowing the tops off all the beds.

Switch to Ron and press X towards the chest on the floor. It pops open and now you can be Scabbers! Since you don’t know how to cast Wingardium Leviosa yet you will have to leave the bouncing LEGO pieces on the ground near the chest.

Switch back to Harry and keep pressing X towards the objects around the room. There is another chest that unlocks a new Character: Ron. You can go to Madam Malkin’s Roves in Diagon Alley to purchase the character. Sweet!

Blow up the spiders on the door (X) and exit the bedroom into the common room.

Gryffindor’s Common Room

Now that you’ve left the Boy’s room, you can control Hermione too!

Jump onto the couches and go behind the couch with the sleeping boy on it. You will find a new Character: Gryffindor Boy. Another purchase you can make! If you press X towards the couch it will eat the boy up! Yes… that’s right it sucks him in and spits him out all twisted and mangled. You can fix him up by pressing X again. Woo! You found your 2nd “Student in Peril”. Key trumpet and cheesy music!

Uh the dresser I just shot decided to get up and walk around. Now it’s bouncing up and down near the exit door. Interesting.

You can press X to cast on painting with orange frames. This turns them around and releases studs. Once they are facing you… you might be in for a surprise. The shorts that the man in the pictures was wearing flew off and the bouncing dresser ate them up! The man in the picture looks rather embarrassed and the dresser is finally still.

You can cause a bit more ruckus in the common room by pressing X on various objects to release studs, draw funny faces on photos and pour juice into goblets. If you are curious about what you can hit, then hold the X button in and move the left thumb stick around. If an object highlight with a green circle then you can cast a spell.

Hogwarts School Grounds

If you get lost or need some guidance, then follow the trail of ghost studs throughout the castle.

There are 5 banners hanging on the wall that you can hit. The first two are immediately out of the hallway from Gryffindor’s Common Room. Go to the right to find two more. Go to the left to find the last one. Rewarded with a Gold Brick.

There are snake doors who only talk to people who can speak in Parseltongue (snake language). Harry Potter can! Bonus… uh but wait. Harry gets sucked into the snakes mouth if you try to interact with it.

Head out of the hallway and into the stair wells.

They are exactly the same as the movies! Be careful as they move around quickly and you might find yourself lost.

If you go up the first set of stairs, you will see a tunnel small enough for a rat. Switch to Ron and press B to activate Scabbers. Climb up the tube and hit the top. It will activate a bell which opens a door to the 3-headed dog, and that scares the man in the top painting down to the bottom of the stairs.

You can interact with the painting by pressing B in the floating spot. He moves the staircase so you can start heading down.

Hit the gold statue 5 times for a huge amount of studs and he will finally crumble. You might be able to fix him later when you know how to cast Wingardium Leviosa. If you hit the painting on top with X then he will throw a quaffle at you. Don’t worry though… nothing happens.

There are some glowing boxes in the corner that you can’t do anything with yet. On your way down the stairs you will find another gold statue. Have fun! Lighting all four candles doesn’t get you a Gold Block but a few more studs.

Awe sad a couple of the gold statues at the bottom of the stairs only release studs once! Not to worry though, there are two that keep releasing till they break!

There is a flower pot to the right, beside the boy sitting on the bench, remember to press X. Another one straight ahead beside a gold statue. There are 2 flower pots towards the gated door in the middle of the room.

Light all the candles on this floor. There will be a total of 6. There are 2 candles on top of the gold statues (at the foot of the stairs on both sides). Towards the gated door in the middle of the room there are 2 more candles. There is a floating candle at the top of the stairs. The final candle is hiding behind a hanging banner at the door way into the next room. Reward = Gold Brick!

Keep blowing stuff up. Hit the bookshelf where the boy is hanging for a massive studs.

Head up the stairs in this room, you will notice there is a door with a huge lock on it. Leave it for now and clear the path for the platforms and hop up collecting all the studs.

You are suppose to head to your Spell Lessons so you can learn more spells. There will be a few studs and items you have to leave behind for now.

Spell Lessons:

Follow the teacher through the door to start lessons.

Press B to do Wingardium Leviosa. You have to find 3 things to cast on. You can move items by pressing B and controlling where it goes with the left thumbstick. This releases the boys who are hanging from light fixtures around the room. The first boy is immediately to your right.

At the far side of the room you will have to make a staircase with the lego pieces. Move the green piece to the right of the purple piece sticking out and the fit the blue piece in between the green and wall.

Once you are on the top you will have to press X towards the picture on the left and put together a statue on the right so you can release the two hanging students. You will be awarded with Wingardium Leviosa and a Gold Brick.

You can get the Character: Boy if you organize the books on the shelf up here. It takes about 3 casts of Wingardium Leviosa.

Have fun exploring the room for different areas to gather studs. Make sure you press X at random objects and try to hold X to find areas that you can focus on.

Hogwarts School Grounds

As soon as you walk out of Spell Lessons you will see a student trying to reach a ball on the shelf. Try out your new Wingardium Leviosa. If you can bring the ball to the ground you will get another “Student in Peril”. There is a chest here with a large lock on it.

Cast Wingardium Leviosa to pick up the sword and draw a funny face on the painting.

Go into the next room and put away a couple of books laying on the ground. Match them up to the colors on the shelf already. This gives you some studs.

There are a couple burnt out lights on the desks here. Fix them with Wingardium Leviosa

Go into the next room. You can help the student who was hanging on top of the book shelf by using Wingardium Leviosa to stack the books on the floor into floating steps. Hop up those steps (I used Hermione) and release the student by jumping onto them. Hop to the top step and grab the Blue stud.

There are 9 flame light that you can cast Wingardium Leviosa onto. There is one immediately to the left (on top of a gold statue). Make sure you get the ones on the stair wells (there are 4 here). If you walk back towards the Gryffindor Common room then you will find more flame lights. There is one on the left before going up the stairs. There are 3 through the Lion’s mouth but sadly the final one has a huge lock wrapped around it! [read more to find out how to open that door].

On your way you can put the statues back together and they are silver now. You can also use Wingardium Leviosa to open the boxes that were in the corner. Be careful not to jump over the edge to catch anything that the boxes dump out.

Open the chest on your way into the Common Room and it will release pieces that you can put together by casting Wingardium Leviosa. This puts some statues on the wall and releases a wack load of studs.

In the Common Room you can cast Wingardium Leviosa to light the bulbs that are burnt out.

In the Boy’s Bedroom you can put the pieces together from the chest. This creates a Grandfather cloth that allows characters with time-traveling abilities to use it there. You can move the flower pot with Wingardium Leviosa and then use X to blow it up for some studs.

If you blow up the chest under the flower pot it will release the first Red Brick. Bring it to the owl and it will be available to purchase in Diagon Alley for a bonus!

Go back down to the main corridor and go into the door that was opened through the lions mouth before the door that was opened by completing the stacking puzzle.

Door through Lion’s Mouth

Hop onto the platforms at the top of the stairs and cast Wingardium Leviosa to put the box into the lion statues mouth. It opens a doorway that leads downstairs and outside.

When you go down the stairs, go to the right and you will find a gold statue and a flame light on each side.

You can smash up the flowers (with X) to get extra studs.

Flip 3 green LEGO pictures over, they are dark green and on the wall to the right of the doorway. The third one has a huge lock on it to the left.

Walk through the entry on the left and go into the outside common area. If you walk into the middle and blow up the statues around the pond then you will be able to cast Wingardium Leviosa to put a silver statue together. This statue will plum out the water in the pond which results in a newly blossomed garden and a Red Brick. Bring the Red Bring to the Owl which is straight ahead.

Collect Ghost Studs is now unlocked!

There is a closet you can enter by standing in the glowing orb on the ground. It doesn’t appear to do anything right now.

Blow up the flowers in the garden to release studs and a few ingredients for a potion you will likely make later. There is red cherries, a green apple, and if you shoot X at the dummy beside the gate with the large green lock then you will release your final ingredient: a black helmet.

Shoot the kids who are casting spells on the poor “Student in Peril” to release him!

Not much else to do now, so head back into the main room and go through the door that was opened by completing the stacking puzzle.

Exit from Stacking Puzzle:

Complete the puzzle on the main floor. First is Blue, Green, then Yellow Lego. Stack them all together so open another door to outside.

Head through the door from the puzzle. You will enter into a room where you can do loads of different things. First you can put the statue back together then head up the stairs grabbing the studs along the way.

Blow up the statue on the stairs to release studs. Hit the statues on the left and right at the top of the stairs by hitting them with X. Collect the items from the banners and follow the statues as they fall down the railing. They will leave studs behind them.

Release the banners at the top of the stairs to release potion ingredients and studs. On the left is a green apple, on the right in a black helmet. You will find 2 more banners beside the exit door. Hold X and use the left thumb stick to focus on them. They are up high. You will release a “Student in Peril” and get a Gold Brick.

Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the gold statues until they break and you put them back together again. They will be silver. There are 2 on the left and 2 on the right. There are a couple flame light on top of the statues which will release studs if you cast Wingardium Levios.

Use Scabbers to go into a tube and push a gold statues head down. Cast Wingardium Leviosa to put the statue together again. It will open the door to the left. You can press B to activate the book shelf. Repeat the pattern you see to release a bunch of studs.

Random bit of information: Switch to Ron and you will find that if you press the Right Button you will switch between Wingardium Leviosa and Scabbers.

There is a puzzle on the left. Cast Wingardium Leviosa to paint the top shelf objects and clear the dust off the painting. I believe you are suppose to do something with the statues underneath as they change their appearance when you cast X on them. I wasn’t able to make the boy in the picture ok with the results and they stopped changing so I don’t know what to do with them yet.

On the right of the exit door you can cast Wingardium Levios to blow up a blue machine and it will release a potion ingredient: red cherries. You can also use Wingardium Levios on the corner statue to release puzzle pieces. Put them together for the missing piece to open the exit door.

On the left side you can cast Wingardium Levios on the book shelf and corner statue. Hit it a couple times with X for some additional studs.

Follow the professor and exit the room.

Cut scene: You are in the Kitchen. Malfoy is there.. being Malfoy! He throws food at Hermione and she runs off. Professor Quirrell arrives with news about the troll. Everyone runs screaming.

Out of the Dungeon:

Level 2:

There is a book shelf on the right and a couple flower pots you can activate with X. You can’t do anything with the book shelf yet. If you had Hermione then you could activate the book shelf to complete the puzzle. Only someone with a book (Hermione) can use bookshelf puzzles.

There are a total of 9 flower pots to find and activate. Get the 2 in the doorway. There is one on each side of the fountain after following the troll. There is another one on top of the shelf near the fountain. There are 2 more flower pots on the right of the fountain.

There is a burnt out light bulb above the gold statue. This is the 1st of 7. The 2nd on is to the right of the shelf near the fountain.

HA! Huge LEGO troll smashes the wall. Behind it is a bunch of pipes. Time to switch to trusty Scabbers.

After Scabbers stops the oozing gas from leaking through the pipes by climbing through them and pushing on the red buttons. You can carry on.

The troll walks some more and smashes a large boulder in your way. Pick up the 3 pieces of chicken from the floor and put them in the fountain to release a piece of a Hogwarts Crest (1/4).

On the left side, stack the 2 LEGO pieces together so you can hop up on the shelf. Hop to the right (towards the studs) and over to the gold statue. By casting Wingardium Leviosa on the flame light you will burn the statues bum and pieces will fall to the floor. Go back down and cast Wingardium Leviosa on the broken pieces.

Now you have a large pitchfork. What ever will you do with it?

Use Wingardium Leviosa to pass it up to the rather large and odd fish statue so she? He? Can shoot the boulder out of your way! Woohoo!! Onwards after that troll.

Oh no! He is headed to the Girls Bathroom. Wait. Does he actually take time to knock? Uh yea.. he does. That’s one polite troll.

Cast Wingardium Levios to put the pieces together on the floor. This will give light to the people in the painting.

There is another burnt out light above the gold statue, and above the girls bathroom door on the left.

Don’t leave all those lovely studs behind. I’m sure Hermione will survive if you take a minute to get them. Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the two gold swords to release studs.

The first cool combo which you have to switch between characters rather quickly occurs. Put one of them on the bench under the swords and switch to the other, press X, then switch back and jump up to get the studs! Great team work!

There are a couple more flower pots along the railing towards the bathroom, and the final one to the right of the bathroom door. Ohh activating all 9 flower pots will give you another piece of a Hogwarts Crest (2/4).

If you hit the picture with X it will turn Harry into a girl. Yes. A girl. He needs to be one so he can go into the bathroom after the troll. I think there’s a timer and I just stood there for a moment considering what happened so be sure to hurry up! Enter the girls bathroom.

By lighting all the remaining burn bulbs in the bathroom you will get a piece of the Hogwarts Crest (3/4).

Cut Scene: You enter to find Hermione crying at the sink and the troll exiting a stall. To wash its hands. Hermione ran and hid in a stall and brave Harry and Ron tried to distract the troll.

Battle time!

Smash up as much of the bathroom as you can. Go on a massive X rampage and collect studs! You can kill the troll by using Wingardium Leviosa when he picks up a few pieces of LEGO. He will start to throw it at you and you just need to cast it back to him 3 times.

Pick up his gauntlet and smash it down on his head. Make sure you have 100% wizard by collecting enough studs before the final blow.

Cut Scene: Hermione comes out smelling like roses and Professor Quirrell is sad that his troll died.

Welcome back to the puzzle room where the painting still doesn’t like you. The one on the right. And your ingredients are still waiting for you to make something. Follow the ghost studs down the stairs and into the Spell Lesson room.

Spell Lesson 2:

Cut scene: a bit of techno music and a floating gold star with pieces that broke up around the room.

Now that you will have more than 1 spell (after this lesson anyways) you can move through them by pressing the LB or RB.

Use Lumos by selecting it RB and pressing B. The first set of green fingers you need to cast Lumos on is to the right. Underneath you will find a piece of the broken puzzle. Pick it up with B and place it in the middle of the room on the green LEGO base. B to release.

The 2nd piece is laying on the ground to the left. Have fun blowing stuff up on the first floor to get studs.

Put the LEGO pieces together to form a set of stairs. If you are confused look to the right there is a picture of how to put the pieces. Yellow, Green, Blue.

While upstairs, cast Wingardium Levios to blow up the arms sticking out under the cobwebs and blow up the cobwebs with X. This releases a huge amount of studs.

You can kill the spiders with X.

To the right of the cobwebs cast Lumos to remove the green fingers from the 3rd piece of the puzzle. A bit further right and you will see a statue trapped by green fingers. Cast Lumos to release the 4th piece.

By lighting all the spine shaped candles you get a new Character: Girl.

On the far right there is the final piece of the puzzle hiding behind a set of green fingers.

Put all the pieces together on the green base to get Lumos and a Gold Brick.

Remember the new spell “Lumos” lights up the tip of your wand and burns away creepy crawly tentacles which are scattered about.

You are finished this lesson so leave the room and follow the ghost studs to the right.

Hogwarts Castle:

Keep walking to the right and you can burn away the green fingers to get access to a new part of the castle.

Cast X on the painting to release a couple wizards who are having a dual. Press X on the painting to place a wall between the people and release a bunch of studs.

There are 5 burnt out lights you can fix by casting Wingardium Levios to get studs.

Walk into the middle of the room and you will see a stairwell on the left. You can only get access when you have a loud painful scream. Hit the flower pot there for studs. There is another one at the bottom of the right stair well. Which you can’t access cause there’s a prefect there who is blocking you. Near the door on the right there are 2 more flower pots.

Hit the picture here for a bunch of studs. If you hit it 3 times then it will slant to the side and one of the guys will leave.

Use Wingardium Levios to pick up a piece of chalk and fill in the picture on the chalkboard. Its a girl. You will get a bunch of studs.

You have 8 new flame lights to ignite. I started with the one near the door with the huge green lock on it. on the far right of the room. There is another one between the chalkboard and painting. There are 2 at the foot of the stairwell that the prefect is guarding. Another 2 at the foot of the other stairwell.

At the bottom of the left stairwell you can cast Wingardium Levios to stack bricks together to release studs.

Cast Wingardium Levios on the book shelf to take the books out and put them back to get studs.

You will get a new Character: Griffindor Girl by scaring the boy who is holding it over to the pot with a green snake in it. Shot him a couple times and it will be released.

That’s about it for this room, follow the ghosts steps down to your Potions Lesson with Professor Snape.

Potions Lesson:

Cut Scene: Professor Snape aggressively shows you that you need to brew a potion for strength so you can pull on the chain to get out of class.

You can run around the room and collect the randomly placed studs. Cast Wingardium Levios to lift the lids off the 3 green potion bottles to release bubbles and rain.

To the left you can cast Wingardium Levios on a level to burst open a beaker and get studs. Cast Wingardium Levios to clean up the room a bit… and X to smash stuff up!

Cast Wingardium Levios on the gold door to the left. Then cast it again (holding B) on the hanging statue to release his arm.

Towards the front of the room on the left, cast Wingardium Levios to put the pipes back together so you can send Scabbers into the pipes to knock the horn free.

You can get the final ingredient by casting Wingardium Levios on the snake which is wrapped around a pole in the middle of the room. Pull out some venom from his mouth once he is laying on the ground.

Put all three ingredients in the bubble cauldron to make the potion. Press B to take a gulp and feel the new strength that is given to you (temporarily!).

Walk to the right and pull on the level after having a nice big gulp of the potion.

Gold Brick Unlocked

Strength Potion Unlocked

Head out the door that is near the skelton and get away from Snape as quickly as possible! Everyone knows hes a real villain eh!

Follow the ghost studs to the left and into the main concourse room. Go up the stairs, to the right and down through the Lion’s Mouth Door.

Door Through Lion’s Mouth:

Go to the far left and through the garden. Use Lumos on the green fingers blocking your access out to the grounds of Hogwarts. Along the path there are lots of flowers you can blow up (press X) to get studs. You will also see a wheel barrel which has a huge lock on it.

The green plants with moving tentacles will suck you in and take one of your life hearts. Be careful trying to get the Blue stud.

There is a snoring plant that you can wake up and feed. Stick a piece of chicken in front of him and he will gobble it up, burp, and start snoring again! Cast Wingardium Levios again to pick up a tire which he will gobble up too! Now try to pick up the poison and see if he will eat it..

oooh Yup! He does and you are left with a pile of studs.

Time to start heading into your Herbology Lesson.

Herbology Lesson:

Cut scene: Watch as Professor Sprout uses a new Lumos spell ot kill the green plants with tentacles. Oh No! Ron is captured! And locked behind a gate with Devils Snare.

Make sure you don’t cast on the professor, she will lock you in a block cube for a few seconds!

On the left, cast Wingardium Levios to break open a wheel barrel and shovel for studs.

Hold X and target on the Devils Snare scattered around the room.

Press X to blow up the plants that grow on the ground after killing the Devils Snare.

Cast Wingardium Levios to put together a wagon that you will hop on and off quickly. It will move towards Ron automatically and smash though the locked gate.

Go towards Ron and hold X to target on the Devils Snare around him. Just for fun you can blow up the flowers and collect the studs too! You may notice there is a door on the left with a huge lock on it.

You got Lumos Solem which is placed on top of Lumos. So an upgrade?! Sweet…

Plus another Gold Brick.

After you are done smashing stuff up, exit the room. Try out your new spell on the Devils Snare to your left and right. That would have made it easier to get the Blue studs eh!

Follow the ghost studs to the newly opened gate to Quidditch.

Cut Scene: Malfoy being a douche… he causes a ruckus and now you have to retrieve the globe from the gargoyle statues.

ps. Only Harry can fly well on a broom.

Follow the studs up in the air. Holding A will lift you higher in the air and letting go will make you drop slowly. Press X to hit the gargoyle on the wall. He will pass it to another gargoyle which you have to hit 3 times (with X) before he passes it to a Devils Snare plant on the wall.

Press X to hit the flower pedals around the Devils Snare and that will release the globe shooting into the air.

This is when Professor McGongall sees how wonderful Harry is at Quiddich.

Broomstick Flying unlocked

Gold Brick unlocked

Garden on the Right:

Now that’s over, follow the ghost studs through the garden and all the way to the right where you will burn away some rather large Devils Snare.

Hop on top of the fountains to get studs and smash the gold statue until you can put him back together again. You can cast Wingardium Levios on a plant a couple times to release studs too!

Ahh there is a cauldron floating here. It requires the ingredients for a strength potion. Good thing you know how to make this.

Use Lumos Solem to destroy the Devils Snare plants in the garden. They will release pieces you need to put together.Press X on the 3 different long grass sections you will get a skeleton arm, snake venom, and horn.

Place all the ingrediants into the potion and take a gulp! Now you can use Wingardium Levios to put the pieces together and lift the ball onto the stand. Take another gulp, get buff and pull the lever.

The ball will roll away into the wall on the right, which creates a new entry point.

Collect the studs around the garden and head off.

Time to put those flying lessons to use! Walk to the end of the bridge and hop on the broom (press Y). Remember to use Harry as he is the only decent flyer.

Fly across and up (to get a Blue stud) then walk to the end of the bridge. You only need to bring one person. As soon as you get to the door you will exit near Hagrids hut.

Hagrid’s Hut Area

You can use the gold cauldrons once you’ve mastered Polyjuice potion making.

Notice the owl to the left of the door way. This means there is a Red Brick around here. Lift the black helmet off the sleeping boy.

There are 3 puzzles that have white splatter on them. The first one needs to be freed from the Devils Snare. The second one needs to have the blocks blown away and get lifted out of the ground and the third just needs a good cleaning. Make sure you use the nearby brooms to wash the splatter off them. Doing this gives you a Gold Brick!

You can pull out 4 carrots by pressing X. They are scattered around the immediate grass area. Pulling out all 4 gives you a new Character: Percy Weasley.

Put together the broken pieces near the path by casting Wingardium Levios. Then hold the rain cloud up so 4 bunches of flowers grow. Use Wingardium Levios again to destroy all the flowers and you will find the Red Brick. Bring that over to the owl. You have Fast Dig unlocked!

There is a bouncy pumpkin under some Devils Snare.

There is a “Student in Peril” trapped in some Devils Snare to the right of the pumpkin patch. There are also some red cherries.

You can’t go too far to the right as there is a sliver gate with a large lock on it. Follow the ghost studs to the left.

Hit the chimney near the huts to release a rain cloud which floats away. Smash up the stuff around you with X. If you want more studs.. plus it’s kinda fun to hear the exploding sounds!

When you walk through the banners it appears you are at a Quiddich Match.

Quidditch Garden:

Use Wingardium Levios around the entry garden to get studs from plants and flag posts.

There are 5 flags that need to be raised. Only the Yellow and Red flags count. You will be rewarded with a new Character: Katie Bell.

The 4 Green flags will reward you with a new Character: Padma Patil

There is a “Student in Peril” stuck near the first flag on the left. You can create a landing mat for the student to jump on by casting Wingardium Levios on the sticks under the ledge. Then use it yourself to hop onto the ledge to get the studs! Don’t worry… you rock so you’re not going to get stuck 😉

Go to the left of the tent and set forth the 3 broom sticks by casting Wingardium Levios. They will fly off and you will get some studs.

Use the bench on the right hand side to get lifted on top of the tent. Cast Wingardium Levios on the quaffle and it will tumble down the windy tubes and get stuck in the case. Releasing a lovely Gold Brick for you!

Go to the vendor on the right and cast Wingardium Levios to lift the plants onto the top. Lift all four. They will explode and send a few studs your way. After the 4th one explodes the vendor will bounce out tons of studs and a new Character: Ravenclaw Boy.

Hop on top of blocks to collect the studs.

There is another closet here that will suck you in and spit you out. Still doesn’t seem to do much else.

Head into the tent.

A Jinxed Broom

Level 3:

Cut Scene: First match. Harry is cheered on and Hermione reminds Ron to watch.Oh look theres the snitch! Harry tries to catch it but his broom has gone mental. You have to save Harry!

Only Ron and Hermione are available to save Harry.

Go to the left and lift the flag (1/7). Head down the stairs and lift another flag (2/7). Smash up the buckets and boxes and hop over the barrels carefully to collect studs.

Cast Wingardium Levios to move the blocks from under the stairs.

Whoa! Watch out for flying people smashing through the stands! It’s time to hop on a broom and strut your flying stuff!

Fly to the other side and try to make it to the LEGO stairs. There’s a Hogwarts Crest piece there.

There are a couple more flags to raise and you need to cast Wingardium Levios to fix the pipes so you can send Scabbers through. There is a locked chest near the entrance to the tubes. Man… I would love a key!

Scabbers will scare the student that is up there and that will drop the LEGO pieces you need to build a stairwell. The picture of how to do it is hanging on the wall near the broom.

Climb up and use Wingardium Levios to move the boxes so you can walk by. Hit the brooms until they explode and leave pieces you can put together with Wingardium Levios.

Switch to Hermione and stand in front of the book case. Copy the pattern. This releases an axe which chops through the baracade.

There is another flag to raise, and to the right is the final flag. Rewarded with a piece of the Hogwarts Crest.

Hit the orange picture and the painting too. This will drop the student that is up top.

If you use Scabbers you can go under the stairs here and get some studs and a new Character: Harry Girl Disguise.

Go through the door and cast Wingardium Levios on the bouncing LEGO pieces. This creates a staircase to the next level.

Have Hermione do the bookshelf and cast Wingardium Levios to put the pieces together, and Hermione can lift them up to create 3 platforms to get to the next level.

Shoot the flames to the left and it will explode opening a new entrance.

Cut Scene: Hermione lights Snape’s cape on fire and Harry can finally fly after the snitch again. Ohhh on his toes and he falls off his broom and knocks the snitch out of his ear!

Gryffindor wins!!

End of Level 3:

Characters unlocked: Harry Girl Disguise

Hogwarts House Crest 1/4

Gold Bricks

There are a few things that you will have to come back to complete in Free Play after you release some characters.

Leaky Cauldron:

Films in the upstairs leaky cauldron. All the cut scenes are located here.

There are a bunch of studs laying around too.

Diagon Alley:

You can walk through the alley and pick up the studs laying on the ground. There are also a couple light poles that you can shoot and they will release studs

Madam Malkin’s Robes:

Put together the clothes laying on the floor and you will be given a new Character: Hermione (Ballgown)

Shoot the old dude in the changing rooms and you will be given a new Character: Harry (tuxedo).

This is where you can buy the characters you find. Some of them are really expensive!

Eelyops Owl Emporium:

In the Owl room if you shoot the cage holding pieces then you will blow it up and cast Wingardium Levios to put it together. Hop on the broom and sweep the floor to get a Gold Brick.

Downstairs you can also buy Gold Bricks. There are 12 available. The most expensive one costing 1, 100, 000 studs!

Upstairs you can buy Red Bricks. Well…you can buy the item in the Red Brick that you’ve found plus other ones like “Carrot Wands”.

Make sure you save enough studs to buy the Red Bricks.

Wiseacre’s Wizarding Supplies:

Up stairs you can stand on the glowing bit of floor and a chalk board with a code will be there. It has all the letters of the alphabet and 0-9. I don’t know the code yet.

Down stairs you can buy spells. I bought “Stupify” for 150, 000 studs and “Tarantallegra” for 75, 000 studs.

Gringott’s Bank:

Switch to the Goblin (Press Y).

You can put the doors together by casting Wingardium Levios. Some doors will require a certain number of Gold Bricks before you are able to open them. For example, some want 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50.

There are 10 vaults that you can go into. They are Bonus Levels which usually give you extra studs and a Gold Brick at the end.

Room 1:

It says you can Play Bonus Level

Become a Builder! Part 1 of 4

Aww sweet! You get to drive the triple decker bus! Hello Night Bus! Basically its a smash fest. Enjoy running around blowing stuff up for a wicked amount of studs.

I got the “Watch Out” achievement for knocking over ten characters using a ride-able object +15G 😀

Room 2:

Play Bonus Level: Pick up the Green Block. Use the switches to get Ron over to you. He will automatically jump when you stand on the right switch.

Switch to Ron and use Scabbers to open the door, run through collecting the studs and blow up some flowers. Have Harry and Ron stand on a switch at the same time and that will lower the bridge so you can get a Gold Brick!

Room 3:

Ah ha! Potions! You get to blow up stuff (X) until you find all the ingredients to create the Strength Potion. There is a door here for the screeching voice too, so when you have that character make sure to come back!

There is also one of those screechy plants here that you can probably kill once you know how.

…nevermind. You can go into the closet after you pull the chain and you will come out wearing earmuffs. Pick up the screaming little root and bring it to the door. It shatters it and you can place the root into a bucket there.

Have Ron and Harry stand on the switches to raise the lava.

You have to cast Wingardium Levios to move the 3 platforms into the middle so you can jump across to the Gold Brick.

I found the game to be a bit buggy here if I tried to jump around the lava to collect the studs. Your call if you want to do it. Beware that your characters may appear slightly suicidal and jump constantly into the lava without your control. They were also jumping into each other and knocking the other person off into the lava.

Room 4:

You will be needing Scabbers to go through the pipes.

Use Lumos Solem to remove the Devils Snare. Holding Y brings up all your spells so you can choose to switch to whatever you need.

There is a closet here to get ear muffs so you can pick up the screaming root. Bring him over near the bubbling cauldron to break through the glass door. You can plant him on the hill.

Hermione will come in handy here cause she can use the bookshelf. This will release a lever that you can pull after drinking the potion.

Collect the 3 ingredients and take a swig.

Pull the lever on the left (near the book shelf) and this will release a green ball. Walk into the ball to move it into the main area and place it in one of the holes under the water. There are 2 spots for balls to go.

By pulling the lever on the left it raises the water level. Don’t worry when you plop in. You will be able to swim! Go over to the Devils Snare near the cauldron and kill it. Then push the green ball over to the empty hole. I found this to be rather frustrating because the characters kept pushing the ball into corners and it would get stuck. Jump on it (press A) if this happens. Or have a friend plug in another controller to keep the computerized character out of your way!

…and collect your Gold Brick.

Build and Play Building:

This is offered in Room 1 and 3. You can choose to play this mode.

(1 of 4)

blow up the balloons by pressing X. Holding X will let you focus on the balloons that are higher.

You can plant tress by holding B and release then tap B when you are ready to place it.

Build mode was unlocked in Gringotts.

(2 of 4)

B to raise the land

X to lower it

This one is fairly easy. Just fly around and lift the poor little kitties out of the water and put the fish back into it!

Hogwarts Castle:

Walk back into the building and fix the bridge using Wingardium Levios.

Cut scene: it’s Christmas at Hogwarts!

You will be wearing a cheesy red hat that looks like a bandana santa wrap!

Cut scene: Ron opens his presents eagerly. He is disappointed to find he got a cheesy sweater and Harry is happy to find that he has the invisibility cloak!

Invisibility Cloak Unlocked.

The Restricted Section:

Level 4:

Hold Y to equip the Invisibility Cloak, and press B to put it on

There are 6 flower pots. The first two are at the back of the room, on the right. There are 2 more a far end of the hall near the large door.

Watch out for the monster books which will jump on your head and break you! They are the bouncing red books in the middle of the walkway.

There is a book shelf to the right side of the room, so you can come back in Free Play with Hermione and access that. If you do then you will find another piece of the Hogwarts Crest (3/4).

Go to the left and use Wingardium Levios to put together the broken pieces. It will be a book for the statue and he will drop a Yellow one. Stand on the book and then jump on top of the pile of books. It is bouncy and you can up to the top of the book shelf.

Cast Wingardium Levios on the 3 books on the shelf for some studs and then on the flaming bucket to release a torch which will open the door.

Shoot the painting near the door and a bird will fly out and explode on the ground. Be careful to avoid the monster book as you chase after those lovely little studs! You can kill the monster book if you have your invisibility cloak on and walk up to it and press Y. whoosh! Dead.

In the door there is a blue ice lolly and a few blue studs.

Hop down and go to the statue on the right.

There is a black cauldron flipped over. While using Harry and make sure you have the invisibility cloak on, hold X on the pot to cast Wingardium Levios and flip it over. Place the ice lolly in and walk over to the statue on the right and get Harry to stand on the book that the statue is holding. Ron will automatically cast Wingardium Levios to lift Harry up.

Hop over and smash stuff up. If you blow up the book shelf in the middle it will break and open to the spider ingredient. The flower ingredient is in one of the pots. So smash up everything and you can get the final ingredients. Put them in the cauldron and the door will break open.

Walk into the next room.

Go to the first section of books and smash everything up. Collect the studs and use Wingardium Levios to move the ladder over so you can get the blue stud. There will be a piece of green tubing here. Pick it up (press B) and bring it over to the next section of books.

Cast Wingardium Levios to put all the pieces together and open this section. Collect the studs and move the ladder with Wingardium Levios to collect another blue stud. There is a green key here too. Pick that up.

At the bottom of the stairs are the remaining 2 flower pots, hit those for a piece of the Hogwarts Crest (1/4).

Make sure you are smashing up everything you can to get those studs so you are a “True Wizard”!! …cause we know you are 😉

Use the key on the door and smash stuff up here too! Ooh fun… blowing up books. There is a book shelf on both sides of the room that you can move to collect a blue stud. You may notice the tubes that will require a little Mr. Scabbers. Smash the books away from the entrance of the tubes and switch to Ron (Y) and then activate Scabbers (B). If Scabbers is not ready to use, remember that you can hold Y to bring up your inventory and select him.

Go through the tubes and push everything down. There is a piece of the door handle there. Pick it up and bring it to the next door. You will use Wingardium Levios to move it over there.

In the next room you can kill all 3 spiders in their webs for a piece of the Hogwarts Crest (2/4). and burn away the Devils Snare for a blue stud.

Hit the 2 bats at the top of the mirror on the left and they will drop the cover.

Cut scene…Harry and Ron get caught staring into the mirror and Professor Dumbledore holds the Philosophers stone in his hand.

End of Level 4:

House Crest (3/4)

Gold Bricks (35/200)

True Wizard

Follow the ghost studs through Hogwarts main room and up through the lions mouth. Go to the right where you brewed a strength potion and keep following him across the bridge and down to Hagrids Hut.

I just got an achievement for collecting 500 ghost studs! +15G Sweet deal! 🙂

The Forbidden Forest:

Cut scene: Hagrid has a very sick unicorn and Malfoy is sneaking up on him. Hagrids dog jumps on Malfoy and they all get ready for their detention. They are taking a stroll through the Forbidden Forest when they stumble upon a dark wizard drinking unicorn blood. Harry is captured somewhere and you are on a mission to find and save him.

Blow up the large flowers. There are 3 of them.

You are finally able to kill something! No more blowing stuff up (well…you can do that still too!). There are a bunch of nasty bee type characters that you kill with whatever spell you’ve got. I bought a couple from the store in Diagon Alley so I’m using those. Be sure to blow up the hives otherwise they will just keep coming out!

You have a new character you can use. Hagrid’s dog “Fang”. He can dig up areas to release studs.

There is a “Student in Peril” trapped behind some Devils Snare. Press RB to switch spells and use Lumos Solem to free him.

You can find a new Character: Fang by digging straight ahead of the entrance. Make sure you kill all the Devils Snare here!

Go to the right of the screen and use Wingardium Levios to lift the rain clouds up and a tree will appear. Switch to Fang and dig at the digspot to release some dancing branches which will become your next ladder.

Up here you will find the next 2 large flowers and get a piece of the Hogwarts Crest. After you smash everything up, switch to Fang and dig where the glowing paw prints are. The ground will get all sucked in and you will be able to go further under ground.

Have fun blowing stuff up here, and be careful of the Devils Snare. It wiill pop up wherever there are blue studs. Use Lumos Solem to burn away the large Devils Snare, then you will see old brown looking Devils Snare, hit it with X to send boulders falling down. This is your next room.

Walk down the path, smashing stuff up and then you will notice a chest with a lock on it. Just above that lock there are a couple pieces of stairs stuck in cobwebs. Shoot them down and build stairs. You will need to switch to Fang so he can dig up the blue stair piece. The first one is the Yellow. Then the Green on the right and the Blue on the furthest right.

If you go down into the puddle, have Fang dig there and all the water will go away… well at least most of it. Then walk around and cast Wingardium Levios on the 6 chicken drumsticks so you can get a piece of the Hogwarts Crest.

You can also have Fang dig in the right side of the pond to release studs.

Cast Lumos Solem on the Devils Snare in the pond and it will disappear, revealing a lever. Remember that Hagrid is the strong one, so use him to pull the lever. Hold B and this will create a platform so you can cross to the other side.

Release the path pieces from the 3 cobwebs and use Wingardium Levios to put them together. You will need to use Wingardium Levios a couple of times until the pathway is facing the right direction. Climb up and go through the cave.

Cut scene: Harry holding his scar as he sees the death eater and gets saved.

Level Complete:

House Crest 2/4

True Wizard

Gold Bricks 38/200

Student in Peril 1

Pretty much after you save Harry from his wicked broom you will be whisked away to “face of the enemy”. You finally get that year 1 end battle!!

Face of the Enemy:

After a cute cut scene where Ron fails at playing a musical instrument. You are basically stuck. In a room where you can light 3 candles and hit the 3 headed dog loads of times.

But wait… there is a painting on the wall. Hit it with X and the man in the painting will toss out a rubber ducky. Hit the duck with X twice and the cast Wingardium Levios to lift it into the dogs mouth. The dog will happily move away to chew on the duck. Then you can cast Wingardium Levios to put the harp back together and it will put that nasty beast to sleep. The floor door will automatically open and a bunch of studs should magically appear for the taking.

Hop down through the door and Ron will get trapped in the Devils Snare which surrounds you. Pull out your spells and switch to Lumos Solem (LB) and free him. There are a bunch of studs laying around here (a couple blue ones) grab those before exiting on the right. You can also hit the red veins which are hanging on the walls to get some more studs.

Walk to the right killing all the Devils Snare along the way. You will notice a large floating Gold Key above you. Hit it once with X and it will fly to another location. But you have no broom!? Go to the statue and on his left there is a bucket. Cast Wingardium Levios to lift it up and put it on his head. This will release a broom. Fly around and collect the studs and hidden blue ones. On the main floor behind the huge pillar there are 3 blue studs. Walk past those to collect them!

Remember that Harry is the only character that’s good on the broom so use him. Press Y to hop on and off and X to shoot the key as its flying around. Once you hit it a few times it will fall to the floor. Cast Wingardium Levios to lift the key and put it in the door. Sadly there is nothing you can do with the locked chests in this level… not yet anyways.

Go through the door and you will walk into your first game of wizard chess!! To get the pieces to move all you have to do is hit them with X. Only the ones that are suppose to move will. So don’t worry about a particular sequence or anything. Be careful not to fall off the edge, you will lose massive studs! You have to activate a couple of the pieces by pressing Y near them (the castle and horse). Then you will have to cast Wingardium Levios to create a piece. Once your team wins go through the next door.

You are at the end! Walk towards Professor Quirrell and the floor will crumble in one section. Quirrell will toss flame balls at you. Avoid them! Duh.. and when he starts to throw a glowing green head use Wingardium Levios to throw it back at him. The flames in the floor will disappear momentarily and you can hop over to “hit” him by touching him. You will need to do this 3 times (as per usual for an end guy!). The floor breaks a part a bit more each time you hit him. You have to use Harry to hit Quirrell otherwise it doesn’t count.

Cut scene: Professor Quirrell melts away and your parents are so proud. They are watching from the mirror. He-who-must-not-be-named is there trying to steal the philosophers stone from Harry who is passed out on the ground. Sucks to be a “ghost” eh!

End of Year 1 😀 Congrats!

– “Lumos Solem” Destroy 50 Devils’ Snare Plants +15G

– “Junior” Complete Year One Story levels +50G

Just for fun I went back to the Bank in Diagon Alley to finish the building levels (3 & 4) and I was awarded “Building Blocks” Complete all the LEGO builder tutorial levels +30G

That is a fairly easy achievement to get because all you have to do is build a couple things.

Level 3: put the road pieces down in the right direction and drive to the switch.

Level 4: place cars near the 4 switches and drive over each one using a different vehicle.

Silent Hill Walkthrough

This is my first attempt at a walkthrough so it may take a while and have plenty of stuff missing. I wanted to give it a shot though. Enjoy!

Right Button: opens Weapon Inventory

Left Button: opens General Inventory

Press X to select something

Press A to interact with the world

Press Y to open the Map

LT & A A A (X) – X adds an extra stab or jab with the combat knife

Silent Hill: Homecoming starts with a totally creepy introduction. Very “Saw”-ish…You are being pushed down a dark hallway on an operating table. You can hear people screaming and tools at work! Your arms are belted onto the table. You are left alone in a room. Press A to wiggle out of the operating table.

In the first room, before exiting through the double doors, there is a “doctor memo” posted on the wall. It reads:

“The patient in room 206 is scheduled to undergo a trans-orbital lobotomy tomorrow”.

Sounds like fun eh!?

Through those doors you will find a child locked in a cell. Across the hall from the child, posted on the bulletin board is another “doctor note”. It reads:

“Room 205, patient went missing, last seen in the day room after a confrontation with another…”. Nothing more can be read.

Hmm… ok. Missing people and lobotomy’s.

There is a code for the cell. The first mission is to find the code to open the cell door. The child seems happy enough though. In a twisted sort of way. Sitting on the ground, humming…giggling… and whispering “Alex”.

There are two doors. The one on the right is locked. The one on the left opens to another room. After locating the map hanging on the wall near the next door, you will find out that you are in the Nurse Center, and the child’s name is “Josh”.

There is an xray board with a picture, well half a picture of ribs and 3 numerical digits written on it. They are 624. On the counter there is an “attention staff” note that reads:

“Our security has been somewhat compromised- a patient used an x-ray film to write own the code for the security gate. We have recovered the first half, but the second half is still missing. Should you find the missing x-ray piece be sure to notify the head of security immediately”.

Uhm yea. Ok… where is said security when there is blood and guts everywhere!?

After exiting the Nurse Center, you can walk down the hall. Room 201 is locked, Room 202 is blocked. Ahh… you can go into Room 203. There is a weird crying coming from somewhere?

Hop over the broken 2-way window into Room 204. On the coffee table in front of you is a “Basic Weapon Combat” instruction, which reads:

“Today’s soilder needs to be prepared for the rigors of training and beyond. These are techniques that are going to keep you alive out in the field”.

Ah-ha! There is a x-ray board in this room and it has another piece of film.

Hopping back over the broken 2-way window, I found a doll in one of the incubators. It’s a child’s doll which appears to be burnt. Apparently I wonder how it got there…and silence. No more crying.

On the counter there is a health drink (pick that up!) and an “incident report” which reads:

…the patient proceeded to leap through the window and then ravaged the adjacent room. The patient was not responsive to verbal commands. Three staff members eventually subdued the patient. The patient entered a catatonic state and stopped responding to outside stimuli. Restraints were unnecessary during the following week’s electroshock therapy sessions.

Well, now I know why the 2-way window was broken!

Be careful running back to the x-ray board! I had a moment of fright! 😉

Put the new found piece of x-ray film onto the board and it shows a whole rib cage. The digits written across the bottom are 624 872. Perhaps that will open the cell where Josh is?

Yup! The door is unlocked! Alex (your character) asks the child where he is going as he runs through one of the doors. Josh left behind his drawing of what appears to be 3 little pigs?

Following Josh brings you to the Men’s Bathroom. SICK! There is half a dead body laying near the toilet with rather large bugs crawling all around it. How completely appetizing! Not much to do in this room, so into the storage room. The only thing here is a “Save Point”. First save of the game!

Next room is the Woman’s Bathroom. In the broken mirror is a combat knife. Ohhh… cut scene! The lights start to flicker and all room suddenly becomes really creepy! Out comes a mutated nurse and this is the first kill.

Left trigger and A focuses on the nurse and attacks with the knife. The combo is LT then A A A.

LT and B will block and B will let you roll away.

Achievement: Alchemilla’s Finest +10G

Now where to? The door is locked and there isn’t any warping through the mirror. The old toilet stalls are now mini cells..all rusty and dark. There is nothing in the 2 that have closed doors, but there is an opening through the cell that is broken.

Press A to squeeze through.

It appears that I am in the Woman’s Bathroom again. This time the scenery is completely different and my map doesn’t show the areas I’ve already explored. One of the toilets have oozing veins pouring out of it! Sick! 😉 There’s a first aid kit on the wall. Make sure to take it.

Looks like I will be traveling to another floor. Straight ahead (through the door to the stairs) there is a note on the wall. It reads:

“The doctors say that I’m unable to discern fantasy from reality…but I think I know what’s going on around here. I saw those demons murder the other patients. I want to escape from this cursed place but I don’t dare venture into the light. It seems that they’re attracted to light. That’s why people who need light to see are their natural prey. They also react strongly to sound. If you want to keep on living, you’d be better off just sitting in the dark and staying quiet. But even that probably won’t save you”.

Ahh…so this is where Silent Hill is different than Alan Wake. The light is your weakness in Silent Hill. If you have your light on to see then you will be attacked more.

Go up the stairs and into a room where your only option is to break the window and hop through. This is the Day Room. There are nurses in here. Turn off your light and see if the patient note is accurate information. Nah, maybe if I turned my light off before hopping over. The nurses already knew I was there! Not to worry though, it’s only 2 of them.

After they are dead then head to the slimy looking door and cut it so you can squeeze through into Room 303. There is a Save Point here. To the right there is a bed with a note on it. It reads:

she’s not here she’s not here

she’s not here she’s not here

she’s not here she’s not here

she’s not here she’s not here

Ok…good to know I suppose? Not much else in that room.

Room 304 is locked. Head towards the Linen Room. Oohh a cut scene. Nasty flying bugs bigger than your head start attacking. Ew sick…I had one stuck to my face. Press X or B to get those buggers off! Kill them the same as the nurse: LT and A.

Achievement: Creeper Reaper +10G

In the Linen Room, there’s a health drink to the left. Go through the doors and to the right into the open cell doors. On the gurney there is a photo. Pick this up. It’s a picture of Joshua’s Robbie the Rabbit doll stuffed in his backpack.

Achievement: Sightseeing +10G

Nothing else in there so head down to the Operation Theatre. On the shelf on the right there is a patient chart, it reads:

Comments: treatment has yet to achieve desired results. Patient is non-responsive. Please administer pureed foods only.

Sounds exactly like the sort of doctor I’d like to have eh! Lovely..

Head down the stairs and drop down. Whoa! There are 3 nurses all hovering at the bottom waiting for you. Well really they were probably working on the remaining ½ of a dude’s body on the operating table.

There is a door that is chained shut. Can’t go through there, but an Inventory option appears so you know there’s a key somewhere. To the left there is another slimy door to cut and squeeze through.

Straight ahead on the wall is a Child’s Drawing. This time it’s only one weird looking pig character. There is an eerie sound of scraping or dragging metal in the background. Head up the stairs. At the top you will find the other half of the dude’s body (from the operating table). Examine it and you will find he is holding the key. Take the Operating Theater Key. Not much else to do here so head back down to the chained door.

Unlock the Operating Room door by pressing LB and down so you can highlight the Key. Press A to use it. Remember you can make a grand entrance into the next room by pressing AA. You will smash through the door rather than open it slowly.

There is an incubator on the left and a note on the right counter. It reads:

…setting the electroshock machine beyond the seizure threshold has yielded impressive results in the patients. The most violent and depressed patients are rendered completely docile… The only side-effects have been minor: memory loss, some dislocated bones, one fractured leg and a patient bit off his tongue. This accident was quite a nice side effect as this particular patient was also one of our noisiest. I’ve instructed the doctors to continue with this intensity level for all treatments.

Well … it is only a tongue after all! What!? Minor.. uh huh.

Exiting the Operating Room starts a cut scene. Josh is actually talking to you now. He tells you to go away and that he’s busy. You ask what he’s doing there and he responds with “I want my toy”. You have 2 options:

Y: How did you get here?

X: Are you afraid?

I picked Y, and Josh said “someone brought me here, they told me Robbie was here. They lied”. Now there are 2 new options:

Y: I want to help you

X: I don’t think I can help you

I picked Y again. “I want to help you”. Josh said “Find Robbie. I want my Toy”.

“I haven’t seen any toys around here”.

“I guess you’re not my friend” Josh replies.

“Ok, I will go see if I can find him”.

New Objective: Find Josh’s toy rabbit.

Go into the Nurses Center to the left and you will find a Save Point.

Alan Wake…second time around

The Dream:

I am playing Alan Wake again on the Nightmare difficulty so I can get the rest of the achievements that I missed the first time I played.

I love the overall game play! The graphics are very well done and the soundtrack fits perfectly.

I may die a whole lot more, and become even more frustrated, but I’m pretty sure it will be ok! 🙂

When I started playing the first time, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I heard Alan Wake was a combination of Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The big difference was that a flashlight was going to be my saving grace? Really? A flashlight?!

…turns out that it is actually a fairly cool and unique feature to the game. It adds a new element because you have to first burn away the darkness with the flashlight and then shoot to kill.

The beginning has a pretty slow introduction. You are chasing a kidnapper through your own dream and trying to kill him. There’s a higher light “god” thing that gives you the first flashlight and gun and you get to learn the controls of the weapons. You learn that light offers a safe haven from the darkness. The “monsters” are called the “taken” and they have the darkness within them.I think that everyone has a bit of the darkness within them, its just if they are consumed by it or not?

There are a few things in the Alan Wake world that I missed the first time so that’s why I am going through it again from the start.

I am trying to find all the coffee thermoses I can to make sure I collect all 100 (for the achievement hypercaffeinated for 30G). I noticed that the ones I previously collected on Normal difficulty were already gone and collected. I didn’t know if I was just missing them so I tried loading a couple times…and sure enough everything I collected was still considered collected. I already got the Damn Good Cup of Coffee achievement (20G) for finding 25 coffee thermoses.

I was looking through the manuscript pages and everything I collected was still there too! Except the ones I missed and the ones that you find on Nightmare difficulty of course! So now I just have to find the remaining pages. That will be a slow and adventurous mission to lurk away from my main course to search for them! Hopefully there are not too many taken attacking me!

I am also looking for all the can structures so I can shoot them. I found the first one after killing the first hitchhiker. I looked to the right beside a large rock and there it was! The first time I played, I noticed the cans but I didn’t think to do anything with them. Unlike the coffee… which me, being the addict I am… went straight to them!

Bright Falls:

Examining the stuff around Bright Falls is another thing I didn’t think about doing unless it was something I was interested in reading. There was a few signs and artifacts that I read, but I didn’t look at all of them. BTW I can’t believe how much Rose hits on Alan in the coffee shop…what a book groupie!

I didn’t get a chance to look at the island from a bird’s eye view until just now… almost looks like a chicken foot… creepy!

I am really exploring everything now. I want to find all the little things I missed on the first go through. The cabin is called “Bird Leg Cabin” so I suppose it makes sense to have the island around it shaped like a bird foot.

I am trying to listen to the local radio stations and watch the television shows more too! I got the boob tube achievement but not the radio one! Basically I’m missing half of the achievements 😦 On the deck of the cabin is the 1st of 11 radios I have to listen to!

There is a box full of Thomas Zane books on a computer desk in the common room. I don’t know if I needed to look at this.. but I suppose I will find out later! Also, there is a chopped down tree root that has initials carved into it. Alan thinks that the island used to have an old love story!

Its nice to see how the smallest details I missed in the beginning the first time, help put the story together.
